A Silver Gull in flight over a beach, banked steeply so its wings form a near-vertical line, one wingtip near the top of the frame and the other near the bottom. The bird has a white body, grey upper wings with black and white wingtips, an open red beak, and orange legs jutting from its underside towards the camera. Its head is turned up and to the left, towards a small chip/fry in the air just beyond its beak. The sky behind is clear deep blue, paling towards the horizon, with a few small white clouds. Below the bird is a wide flat beach of wet brown sand crossed by shallow pools and channels of water. Further back, a band of blue-green sea with small white waves meets the horizon, where a faint line of low land is visible.
