A Bush Stone-Curlew is sitting flat on the ground in the centre of the frame, facing right. The bird has brown and white streaked plumage on the upper body, a white and dark-streaked chest, and a distinctive large yellow eye with a dark pupil. A thin pale stripe runs above the eye. The ground around it is sparse dry grass and bare grey-brown earth, with dry brown leaf litter scattered throughout. The background is blurred, showing more of the same ground texture.
