Multiple Black Flying Foxes (Pteropus alecto) roosting upside-down from bare branches in a dense tree canopy. The bats have dark black wings folded around their bodies, with distinctive rust-orange fur on their shoulders and chests. Several individuals are visible at varying distances, with the background filled with green foliage. The photo was taken from drone level, looking across at the colony rather than from below.

Black Flying Foxes (Pteropus alecto)

Taken with the 168mm lens on the Mavic 4 Pro drone. The 168mm lens is great, because it lets me get close enough for a good photo, but also remain far enough away that the animals aren't disturbed by the presence of the drone.
